- She has often advocated that the artisans should work in their agricultural fields and in their free time work on the embroidery.
- It is under her guidance that the Kendra created a Guinness World Record with the Ministry of Culture on the sidelines of the Cultural Track of G20 at Hampi for the ‘Largest display of Lambani items’ It set a stage for the artisans on an international stage to address, interact and display their work.
- Her unwavering day to day involvement in Sandur Kendra’s operations remains a pillar of its continued growth and excellence.

- Her deep-rooted belief in the value of traditional craft has inspired generations of artisans and helped shape the Kendra into a vibrant hub for cultural preservation, skill-building, and sustainable livelihoods.
- She has done her BA in English, Psychology and Marati from Karnataka University and B.Ed in English and Social studies from Annamalai University and MA in English from Karnataka University.
Bahirji A. Ghorpade

- He carries forward the enduring legacy and vision of his great grandmother, who founded the Sandur Kendra in the 1970s. Deeply committed to its mission, he is actively involved in the planning, execution, and shaping of a sustainable future for the Institution.
- His dedication is rooted in a deep belief that traditional arts and crafts must not only survive the test of time but thrive in a modern, evolving world. He envisions a future where craftsmanship is both celebrated and economically viable, ensuring livelihoods for artisans and the preservation of cultural heritage.
- He is a commerce graduate with specialization in finance from Christ University, Bengaluru and holds a master’s degree in Finance and Management from Cranfield University, United Kingdom. He has completed his Company Secretary Executive Program from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Shruthi Muniyappa
Secretary and a Governing Body Member of Sandur Kushala Kala Kendra.
- At her core, she is deeply committed to preserving traditional craft by making it both relevant and sustainable in today’s world.
- Her vision is rooted in ensuring that the economic benefits of the Kendra’s work are shared equitably across its ecosystem reaching the staff, artisans, and everyone involved in the supply chain.
- She brings an artistic sensibility and a deep appreciation for color and design to the Kendra’s creative endeavors. Her active involvement in the conceptualization and development of new product lines reflects a thoughtful integration of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary appeal.
- Under her stewardship, the Kendra earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records and is now embracing e-commerce and contemporary models of sustainability.
- Beyond her work at the Kendra, Shruthi is a passionate watercolour artist, an avid runner, a qualified Chartered Accountant, and a law graduate.
